Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA) and IndiGo have partnered to launch the Cadet Pilot Program (CPP) to source their Junior Flying Officers (JFOs). This program is designed to train aspiring pilots selected by IndiGo to attain their Commercial Pilot’s Licence (CPL-MEIR) and A320 Type Rating.
The CAA IndiGo CPP caters to individuals with no previous flying experience, and who would like to make their careers as a pilot with IndiGo. This program consists of Ground School training to appear for the DGCA and WPC exams, Flying and Type Rating training for the cadets over a comprehensive full-time 20-month Program which includes DGCA documentation and endorsements.
Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA) is one of the leading aviation training academies in India. Approved by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) and established in June 2008, the Flying School of CAA was launched in Dhana, Sagar, Madhya Pradesh to provide comprehensive and state-of-the-art flying training for aspiring students and flying enthusiasts.

CAA assists all students with DGCA related paperwork and documentation
CAA provides an on-campus complete air-conditioned boarding and lodging Hostel for 100 students
CAA has IT-enabled Classrooms for our Ground School, with qualified Ground School Instructors
CAA uses Flight Logger Software to digitize the Flying Training operations.
The basic eligibility requirements to become a pilot applies to the CAA IndiGo CP program are as follows:
Fluent in English (verbal and written) Minimum Education Qualification:
10+2 with minimum score of 51% / Grade Point 6 / Grade C1 –
Individually in each subject i.e. Physics / Mathematics / English or a Higher Degree that includes these subjects with minimum passing score of 51%.
An Engineering Graduate with an aggregate score
of 51 % or more, (the eligibility criterion of 12th with
51% except in English can be overlooked).
Must be between 18 and 32 years of age.
Able to obtain and maintain Indian DGCA Class 1 Medical Certificate.
Have a valid Indian passport and the unrestricted right to
live and work in India, with the ability to travel
unrestricted worldwide
Able to produce a Criminal Record Check (CRC)
Basic Disclosure Certificate and pass all
IndiGo and CAA referencing checks
Must have access to the full funding required for this course
The Cadet Pilot Program selection will be conducted in different stages as given below. Training partners will review applications and advise the eligibility status to assess whether the eligibility criteria for IndiGo cadet pilot training program are met. Eligible candidates will be invited to CAA and IndiGo assessment centres for selections.
Once the applications are received the shortlisted applicants will be required to appear for the following:

Personal Interview
IndiGo Group Task Assessment
IndiGo Personal Interview
Chimes Aviation Academy (CAA) will share the results with the Candidates after completion of interviews.
The Candidates who are not successful in the selection process will be briefed by the Chimes Aviation Academy team regarding a 2nd attempt. This will be in accordance with IndiGo’s Guidelines.
CAA provides each student with 500 hours of Ground Training. The modules included are:
Single Engine
180 hours on Cessna-172 aircraft, equipped with Garmin-1000 glass cockpit.
Multi-Engine
20 hours on Diamond DA – 42 aircraft.
Flight Simulator
30 hours on FNPT1 (10 Hours on Single Engine Cessna 172 and 20 hours on Multi-Engine Diamond DA-42 Simulators).
All DGCA, WPC, Medical, Regulatory paperwork, and clearances.
Boarding and Lodging in clean and high-quality facilities for the full period of the CPP Program.
All Program related conveyance and transportation will also be covered by CAA.
All Flying related uniforms and accessories
The program Fee: The all-inclusive CAA IndiGo Cadet Pilot Program Fee is INR 82,50,000 .00 (Rupees eighty two lakhs fifty thousand only). The Fee will be payable in 4 (four) instalments over a period of 14 (fourteen) months from the date of Cadet enrolment confirmation for the CPP Program.
