Our entrance exam primarily covers 12th standard level Physics and Mathematics.

In case you have opted for Commerce or Arts stream at 10+ 2 level, then you can either take up Physics & Maths as additional subjects (if you are currently pursuing 10 + 2) or you can enroll as a private student in any of the recognized Open School / University. Alternatively, you can opt for the PPL / Cruiser program if you want to try your hand at hobby flying.

CAA has 9 Cessna 172 R single engine aircraft, equipped with Garmin 1000 glass cockpits. In the multi-engine category, we have and 2 Diamond DA 42 aircraft.

Normal duration of CPL course is approximately 12 – 15 months, which is also subject to how soon a student clears his theory papers and passes DGCA exams. The fastest that one of our students has qualified, has been seven months!

CAA is India’s first pilot training academy to fly the aircraft with the Centurion engine, which operates with ATF (Jet fuel). Also, we are listed in Limca Book of records.

This differs from course to course. The batch size depends on the number of applications we receive.

The Private Pilot Training course is ideally suited for aviation enthusiasts, for hobby fliers and for those who own or have access to a private aircraft. The PPL training curriculum helps build the necessary skills and knowledge that also makes students eligible for Commercial Pilot Training.

A glass cockpit is an aircraft cockpit that features electronic (digital) flight instrument displays, typically large LCD screens, rather than the traditional style of analog dials and gauges.
Yes, at CAA all our Cessna 172 aircraft are equipped with Garmin G1000 glass cockpits.

In commercial aviation, the First Officer is the second pilot (also referred to as the “co-pilot” of an aircraft. The First Officer is second-in-command of the aircraft to the Captain, who is the legal commander.

Before progressing to First Officer, comes the role of Trainee co-Pilot. It takes approximately 1 year with an airline to become a Trainee co-pilot. Then after around one year and clearing the check ride, the Trainee co-Pilot qualifies for the right seat as a First Officer.

Commander and Captain are terms used in-lieu of each other. It requires a total experience of 1500 flying hrs, an ATPL License, 1000 hrs of cross country flying and 500 hrs on type of aircraft to become a Captain. On an average it takes around 2 to 3 years to become a Captain after becoming a First Officer.

With the introduction of low cost airlines in India and Asia region, the job scenario in the aviation sector is looking up. Also, the importance of time over money is a major factor in making a transition from the railways to the airlines, as a primary mode of transport.

Govt. of India allows a person to fly commercially up to the age of 65 years, which is subject to being medically fit.

Yes, as long your eye sight is 6/6 after wearing correctable glasses, and you are declared medically fit from a DGCA approved doctor.

Check your eligibility – Educational Qualifications: You should have cleared your class 12th with Physics and Maths. Non Physics – Chemistry – Maths students can appear for the National Indian Open School (NIOS) exam and join the course.
Medical Fitness – You should have cleared your Class ll medical examination by a DGCA approved doctor.
